DC JUICY is Dusty and Chauncey Manhattan, and their amazing stage show. The two were born Siamese twins, adjoined at the head and dropped off by their troubled mother at the Billy D. Williams Orphanage for Little Johns when they were only 7. A few years later, a rich white couple from Brentwood California decided to adopt. The paid for the operation to separate the two, took Chauncey back with them to the West Coast and left Dusty at the orphanage. It was years before Dusty and Chauncey ran into each other while Chauncey was getting a Blueberry Slur-pee at a 7-11 that Dusty came into rob. The reconnection was instant. The two took their very different upbringing, unique tastes in music and launched DC JUICY. Blending Chauncey's love for greasy funky R & B and Dusty's love for hip-hop, they created a sound which would rock audiences around the world. Their large entourage of performers rivals the keen business sense of MC Hammer. They have just finished their "What The F*&^ is This Sh&$?" World Tour and are returning to the West Coast for on-going dates in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Creators of the original Singing Tesla Coils, the crew of ArcAttack uses their high tech wizardry to generate a truly 'electrifying' performance. Two custom engineered hand built Tesla Coils throw out electrical arcs up to twelve feet long, each one acting as an instrument with a sound reminiscent of the early days of the synthesizer. A robotic drum set accompanies the spectacle, it's high power LED's flashing bright colors with the stroke of each mechanically actuated stick, while ArcAttack's six members churn out rhythmic instrumental melodies. Live instruments meet drum loops and samples to produce rock, electronica and indie with a splash of punk and a dash of metal served with a side of pop. During the show, the MC engages both the crowd and the Tesla Coils by walking through ½ Million Volt sparks wearing the relatively thin layer of his chain mail Faraday suit. This high power performance is unique in it's elements and energy, being at the same time mesmerizing and energetically thrilling.
Helios Jive is an alluring cocktail of melodic sounds stirred with a jazzy electronic soundtrack emotionally tailored to the masses. Helios Jive was created by composers Rich Alick and Paul Newman and has risen up from the Los Angeles artist underground. The two are now joined by the sultry Latin vocal stylings of Fernanda Karolys. Their unique live performances boast a visual array of acoustic and electronic instruments and a hypnotizing beat that brings people to their feet. Among credits: their debut album "Heliocentric" was chosen "Best Independent Jazz Album " at the L.A. Music Awards '05. Born in sunny California, Cohen began strumming the guitar at five, singing "I'm going to be a star!" Piano lessons, some bluegrass skills from Aunt Alice & a strong sense of wonder has lead Cohen on his musical journey, and into the hearts of his many fans.
Playing west coast coffee shops, the streets in Galway & countless courtyards in Paris, early shows were stripped down to Cohen's distinctive voice & acoustic guitar. Inspired by performing live, Cohen released a string of independent records including "Rachel's House", "Rockstar EP" & "Owl Said".
While sitting on a beach on Maui with a five string Hawaiian guitar he was discovered by a producer visiting from New York. The song "Rockstar" brought him to the Big Apple and a major label deal. Recognizing the seismic shifts just beginning in the record industry, Cohen declined the offer, and launched his own label - GypsyPop Records. Stevhen Koji Iancu
Stevhen Koji Iancu is a Japanese/Romanian British Immigrant who puts together a fiery blend of Gypsy music, fusing older Japanese styles of Enka with subtle elements of Cumbia, Ska, Punk, Balkan and Romanian music, and many other styles from around the world. Iancu sings energetic, rhythmically driven songs about life's hardships and beauties in Japanese, Romanian, English, and Italian. He is the founder and primary member of The Dolomites, a constantly evolving band that has performed in many configurations at festivals, colleges and other venues across America, Europe and Japan. Iancu has also performed with numerous groups, including Balkan Beat Box, and was a touring member of Gogol Bordello.
Mad haPPy is a guy/girl electronic duo with a distinctive sound, blending electro, hip-hop, latin, eastern european and folk; Their lyrics, intelligent verse promoting tolerance and individuality. Mike iLL and Rivka draw on a rainbow of influences, from Hasidic folk melodies to Public Enemy to Hank Williams, Nina Simone, Madonna and Sly Stone.
Both partners came from devout religious families. Rivka's parents joined the Hasidic movement and she was the seventh of nine children sheltered from American culture in an enclosed Hasidic neighborhood in Brooklyn. In her early teens she left the community and became involved with the spoken word community in NYC. Mike's parents, an ex-nun and seminarian were active in civil rights work. He was raised in the diverse community of Hoboken, NJ. As a youngster he was introduced to free jazz, salsa and rock music, later making tracks into NYC studying electronic music and samba and becoming involved with the NoWave scene. Ultimately making a splash with his band Sweet Lizard iLLtet (Warner Bros.)
Rivka and Mike iLL met in 1997 in a sweat lodge in New Jersey, got together for a musical project and ended up romantically involved. They formed Mad haPPy on New Years Eve of 2002 and have been doing over 200 live shows a year since, building a diverse and dedicated fan base and sharing bills with other cutting edge artists such as Bonde Do Role, Gogol Bordello and Girl Talk. Working closely with labelmate Zef Noi$e (Psychic TV, iLLtet), they've released four full lengths; "Feel Good Music" (Bar/None Records), "Renegade Geeks" (Mutiny Zoo Records - Produced with Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth), "FrankenProphecy" (Mutiny Zoo), "Re-Ups" (Mutiny Zoo) a live DVD, "Desperate Living" (THG/Mutiny Zoo Records) and "The Electro-Funk No Wave Hip-Hop Compilation" (Mutiny Zoo Records).

Scientists Are the New Rockstars" is a live multimedia spectacle exploring the fuzzy and quarky lines between hard science, social science, and metaphysics with hands-on examples of environmentally sustainable art and technologies.
Through storytelling and an immersive audio/video experience VJ Scott Beibin of the Lost Film Fest presents a holistic 'how-to' and 'who's-who' of postmodern innovation. Topics covered in the SATNR laboratory include eco-retrofitting, appropriate power generation, evolved transportation, creative re-use, treasure from trash, architectural re-think, reverse engineering, mutant and indigenous technologies, urban permaculture, communication hacking, egalitarian social theory, sacred geometry, and much much more.
Inspiration for the project is drawn from cross-cultural generations of scientist rockstars such as Buckminster Fuller, Vandana Shiva, Theo Jansen, and Mitchell Joachim to name a few.
The key elements for the show will be the way that some of the new technologies are incorporated into the actual performance. Big surprises and discoveries await! Stay tuned....

Agent Red, elusive and cunning, a fierce performer and talented aerialist, costume designer, organizer and director - always under the deepest of cover, no doubt. Dancer, aerial performer, and propaganda director… Agent Red is a founding member of the world-reknowned Lucent Dossier, as well as dancer and performer of all kinds. At Art Outside, she'll be strutting a few characters - se if you can guess who she is. She'll be dancing for the world famous "DC Juicy", singing with (DMT)Department of Mental Technology performing at Art Outside 2009, as well as throwing out a few aerial acts, including a partner balancing/aerial vignette... Sage's Glow Show for Kids
Enchanted by fire and light spinning for more than ten years, Sage has traveled the world to inspire, while releasing the burning embers of her spirit through unique dance and performance. She is a founder, director, producer and choreographer of the long standing fire performance troop Sangre Del Sol from Austin, Texas. Her goal is to eventually have a full show specialized for children and featuring children in the performance to teach them about the magic of dance, movement and how to create their costumes and characters.
The short performance that she brings to you for Art Outside is the beginning phase of this ultimate goal. It features her dancing and spinning her props to dj music with a mobile lighted pedicab sound system. She will be using entrancing colors in her lighted, moving, glowing props to invoke the spirits of dance, nature, technology and music take over. Also special guest Rob Hybrid will be projecting his visual art onto the whole scene for your viewing pleasure.

I used to frequent bars in Baltimore, with the intention of forgetting my conditioning . One night there was a wild white haired guy at the corner table, dressed in a classy trench coat, like he was in London or something; at first i thought it was Rod Stewart. He was ranting and raving at no one in particular. After some time he picked up the pitcher of beer off the table and poured it all over himself. I 'm part of the Lucent Dossier Experience and i'll be working with Agent Red at Art Outside.

DMT (Department of Mental Technology) are firm believers in better living through reckless experimentation. That's why DMT's mad dub scientists blend breakbeats with booty bass, glitch with garage, reggae, ragga, rap and rock, and heavy duty electronica with live musicianship. Veterans performers in the California Burning Man circuit and the LA underground scene, while their tracks and remixes have been released on Major US labels AND top underground UK Breakbeat labels. Nobody is completely sure what to expect from a DMT show... including the band. It could be a hard dancing set straight from the laptops, with synchronized retina melting visuals. Or it could be mashed up with live musicians and singing aerialists. The 999 EYES authentic human oddities freakshow tours an authentic oddities museum, Lowrent the clown, and a dark carnival jug band -That Damned Band.
An experimental/electronic pop singer/performer, Archibald Adams brings a 10-piece "Shimmering War-Choir" which includes beat-boxing, a small horn section, and full shimmering space-regalia! I recently wrote and performed in Austin's first Bi-Sci-Fi musical, Faster Than the Speed of Light! And have been performing in Austin for four years with experimental pop-band, Fiction.
We were born in the summer of 2008. we like face paint, wigs, costumery, cardboard, buckets of drumsticks, honest conversations, puppetry, being on the floor, george washington, and insane amounts of traveling. we are experimental in a digestible sorta way. we believe in audience interaction and in the beauty of being ourselves, alive, and politely weird. we mostly drive art cars. 1-9 people in band at any given time. you are welcome to join our performance, just hop onstage! velvet underground meets animal collective meets stomp.

Whether performing for 10,000 people on stage or to two people on the street Hey Beep Beep is simply a fun loving good time.

I officially started my journey in 1980. It wasn't until 2001 when my life became really interesting. I was working with various different lighting and sound companies in and around Austin, TX, including Dimensional Lighting, Local 205 IATSE Union and a few others. I also attended Burning Man for the first time in 2001 which really opened my perceptions on many levels. Burning Man influenced my life in a new direction. I began studying Environmental Science in college, which inspired me to become an "eco-warrior." I then worked at Eco-Wise for over three years, as a manager. Eco Wise is an environmental retail/building material store (www.ecowise.com). Then I was introduced to a piece of land called The Hundred Acre Wood in 2008 (www.thehundredacrewoodevents.com), where I'm now the project and land manager. The intention of this project is to create an educational, sustainable, living, learning, research and event center. The Hundred Acres is also inviting an array of eco-businesses to advertise their green building practices, sustainable technologies, art, etc. and to host many different types of events. A non-profit organization called The S.H.I.R.E (Sustainable Habitats Incorporating Renewable Education)www.the-shire.org is now involved with The Hundred Acres. I am also a representive of The SHIRE. I used to work for a company called Diesel Green Fuels (www.dieselgreenfuels.com) as the account executive. Diesel Green Fuels creates bio-fuels out of waste vegetable oil from local restaurants. They work with over 150 restaurants in Austin, TX; including Whole Foods and Alamo Drafthouse. The Hundred Acres is in the process of growing high yielding oil baring plants and creating bio fuels. There to many things to list of what we have planned for. I'm also the Co-Chairman and communications/event director for The Central Texas Zero Waste Alliance. http://ctzwa.org/ The goal is for Central Texas (and Austin) to stop filling up landfills by 90% by 2040.
