My name is Brandi Bautell, designer behind Maris Rae Handbags. About five years ago, my husband bought me my first sewing machine. I didn't request one. ..goodness, I didn't even know how to thread one! I had never sewn before(which is absolutely unbelievable to me today, considering my passion for design and fasion now!), but he knew I had a creative mind and thought I might like one. I'm ashamed to say that it sat in the box for a couple months before I was brave enough to take it out and attempt to make anything. Once I started, I couldn't stop! I found the fact that I could MAKE something so unique and functional with only fabric and thread utterly exciting! My main focus from the beginning has been handbags, and I have worked very hard to design and produce a quality handbag to be proud of. While living in upstate New York in 2006, I began my line, Maris Rae Handbags, and my sister started helping me sew to meet demand. We pride ourselves on the quality of sewing and hard work we put into each bag and accessory. Maris Rae is my Momma's name. She has always whole-heartedly supported me in any endeavor I choose to tackle, never telling me I was dreaming too big or trying to achieve the unachievable.
