Casey Warr
Casey Alan Warr was born March 1, 1980 in Ft. Stockton, Texas, a small town in the middle of the west Texas desert. Here he lived, riding dirt bikes with his dad and dodging tornados until 1988. His family moved to a house outside of Cloudcroft, New Mexico in the Sacramento Mountains. With no television or neighbors for the next 7 years, he learned to explore the vast expanse of natural phenomenon surrounding him atop the freedom of his dirt bike which would later provide inspiration and foundation to his work. In 1994, Casey moved yet again with his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended Cibola High School and began to explore painting. He attended college at UNM, where he worked at Rodey Theater as master welder and carpenter beginning in 1998. Once he learned how to weld, he was inspired to use the skills he had acquired building sets for the theater in more creative ways. Studying under the tutelage of sculptor Steve Barry, he has refined his distinctive sculptural style and ideas, incorporating complex geometry, imploding and exploding space and experimental scale. In 2005, he received recognition for his work and accepted an award from the Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium. In 2006, Casey participated in an exhibition for the New Mexico Art In Public Places and displayed a large scale work in Silver City, New Mexico. His work is currently on display throughout Texas and New Mexico. In Albuquerque his work can be seen at the Hess Sculpture Garden on the corner of Girard and Campus, The Art is OK gallery on Menaul, and a commissioned installation at Asado’s Grill near I-25. He continues to develop works locally and has hopes to do large-scale public works worldwide.

I'm a local photographer from San Antonio, TX. I picked up a camera at a young age because of my intense shyness. Photographing my surroundings is how I relate to and understand the world. I'll continue to photograph until the day I die.
I grew up as a military brat with a pad of paper and a box of crayons. Having to move around so much, I absorbed cultural diversity that flourished my creativity. Art is a part of who I am. As time goes on, I continue to explore my artistic talents to see which direction it will take me. Attending San Antonio College, I obtained an associate degree with a focus on interactive design. During my years at San Antonio College I took a year off to do a little “soul searching.” I moved to the beautiful mountains in Northern California. There I worked at a local ski and board park and snowboarded everyday. I gained knowledge about life, love, and who I was. I returned with a new attitude, ready to take on anything. Currently residing in the live music capital of Austin, Texas, I’ve started to work as a freelance graphic designer while continuing my education online at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My latest project is Song Fashions, a collaboration between my sister Victoria and I. As my waves of creativity hit me, I grab on and ride them out. Nothing brings me more joy then exploring my visualizations and forming them into expressive art. Whether it be graphic design, fine art, fashion, or jewelry making my creativity will never cease.

My photos are a representation of my life as a traveling young adult meeting people and experiencing life on the road.

I have traveled most of my life on the road as the youngest of the BareNakedFamily. Traveling around all over North America, I've been privileged to play and eat in some of the most delicious places on earth. I'm a simple minded kid that loves all things culinary and the official eater and kitchen master on the road and here at home. Constantly working on new handmade foods and fun things for the kitchen, it's where I'm happiest. Kitchens to me are like a playground, a place to create, play, smell, and dress up. My parents have recently set up an Airstream on the side of the house to help me manufacture my new culinary design, handmade aprons for all. My aprons resemble the fun, creative, eclectic, and childhood memories that I have gathered from the road and from our Family's traditions. I love the idea of my kitchen wear to be as crazy and tasteful as the foods that can be created with a little imagination. My kitchen wear is designed for kids and adults inspiring kids to cook and bringing back kitchen memories for adults.

Upon graduation, I moved to Los Angeles where I continued to learn from inspirational teachers and dancers. Now that I am back in Austin, I teach dance and participate in rehearsals for a music video shoot in October. I have been eager to find more performance opportunities where I can display my choreography. I have worked with Art Outside in the past, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with the fashion designers and have a few shows! It was a great creative experience and I would be so excited to be a part of it all again.

My name is Brandi Bautell, designer behind Maris Rae Handbags. About five years ago, my husband bought me my first sewing machine. I didn't request one. ..goodness, I didn't even know how to thread one! I had never sewn before(which is absolutely unbelievable to me today, considering my passion for design and fasion now!), but he knew I had a creative mind and thought I might like one. I'm ashamed to say that it sat in the box for a couple months before I was brave enough to take it out and attempt to make anything. Once I started, I couldn't stop! I found the fact that I could MAKE something so unique and functional with only fabric and thread utterly exciting! My main focus from the beginning has been handbags, and I have worked very hard to design and produce a quality handbag to be proud of. While living in upstate New York in 2006, I began my line, Maris Rae Handbags, and my sister started helping me sew to meet demand. We pride ourselves on the quality of sewing and hard work we put into each bag and accessory. Maris Rae is my Momma's name. She has always whole-heartedly supported me in any endeavor I choose to tackle, never telling me I was dreaming too big or trying to achieve the unachievable.

Emily devotes herself to a method known as glass fusing. She chooses a variety of glass, cuts and arranges the pieces into a unique design, then fuses them in a kiln at temperatures up to, and sometimes exceeding, 1,500 degrees. Each composition may be fired in the kiln multiple times before it is complete. Emily finds inspiration for her glass designs in traditional fabrics from around the world. She sees exceptional beauty in the vibrant colors and intricate motifs such as those used in African Kente cloth and brilliant Indian prints. The repeating patterns and bold colors are closely reflected in her work.

I started designing jewelry in 2005 after I inherited my great-grandmothers old jewelry pieces and fabric. I never wore jewelry until I made my own that would represent my personal style. Then others began to purchase it off of me when I wore it. I have evolved into metal smithing, hand firing enamel, and custom bridal jewelry. I went to Kenya, Africa in 2007, and since have decided to create with a purpose. I donate 50% of my proceeds to Bongoma (a village in western Kenya) we have a friend that lives there and she directly goes and purchases Cows, or whatever is needed to help develop and support them. Its a great gift to be able to help people that you have met and know that it is helping to save lives.
We are two sisters and a Mom. Auvi 16, Zoe 14, and Mom. We live fulltime on the road in our traveling home. We have been touring North America for 2 years now. As we explore the world we are inspired by the places and people that we meet. Most of our pieces are made with recycled stained glass windows, vintage post cards, stones, dominoes, rocks and vintage jewelry. Each piece has a story behind it and a memory that we would like to pass on to you. If you’re looking for something totally original and unique, we have a piece of jewelry just for you.

Along with my colleague, Herb Wright, we have been creating art since the 90's, but have only recently branched out into the public view. We paint in acrylic and incorporate several types of other media into our work. Much of it is collaborative work that is created at the scene. This seems to draw crowds and it allows for the festival patron to witness the process from start to finish.

Currently I am working on a series that involves figurative and abstract pieces which highlight pin-ups from the 40's/50's. The content is juxtaposed by the theme- some pieces are more gestural and loose and the theme is tightly wound with corsets and constricted bodies and/or faces.

Being self-taught I started painting scenes from childhood summers spent in Arkansas with my grandparents. I began painting after my grandmother passed. My very first painting was from a picture of my grandmother bending over petting a dog. Her body positioning in the painting was the same as the photograph, I added a house, trees and a fence. Although, the image was very raw, I felt I had stories to tell, from memories of women connecting in intimate circumstances. I create narrative figurative work using bright and bold colors that tell stories of everyday people largely women facing ordinary life challenges and joys. I rarely paint figures with faces, and would rather let body language and clothing to help address a figure’s character. Artistic influences include Diego Rivera, his use of color, political content and composition, the simplicity Jacob Lawrence’s shapes and the complexity of Romare Bearden’s collages. My formal art training includes a printmaking, commercial art, 2-dimensional art, silk screen and film class. I consciously seek information on traditional and contemporary artist to help improve my skills. My artistic goals are to continue to create images I find interesting, while earning a living through my art.
